Domains - ANK/Ankyrin repeats
The only domain present in the p16 protein is ANK or Ankyrin repeats. This was found using both SMART and Pfam. According to Pfam, each repeat consists of 33 amino acids and is characterized by two alpha helices. The domain is found in proteins of archaea, bacteria, and eukarya. They are even found in some poxviruses. In addition to p16, there are other proteins with Ankyrin repeats associated with human disease.
